"It is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission" - Rear Admiral Grace Hopper

Pioneer Computer Scientist

"Amazing Grace" Hopper may have been ahead of her time. Known as the "Mother of Computing," her work with the first computers put us on the track to making computers accessible to everyone. The things that she did and accomplished were not common for women of her day. The new discipline of computing and the sciences have opened doors, making space for women's participation on an equal basis. Because of all of her contributions, women today have more opportunities.
