Nursing Home Bingo - once a month – play bingo with residents at the Valleyview nursing home Downtown Rescue Mission – Help serve dinner in the kitchen. Finding days to volunteer. The ARK – walk animals, help clean up, office help Kiwanis Weekly Meeting – Any Circle K member is encouraged to join our sponsoring Metro Kiwanis at their weekly meeting every Monday at 11:30am at the Heritage Club in downtown Huntsville.
American Heart Association The Madison Heart Walk is fast approaching and will be held on February 18, 2006, at Joe Davis Stadium. Do not miss your opportunity to volunteer for this exciting event. CASC (Care Assurance for the Aging and Homebound) CASA is an organization that enables compassionate community volunteers, willing to share their resources, to fill gaps of unmet service needs of elderly and homebound people to maintain independence, dignity, health and safety. Depending on the volunteer’s schedule, CASA can offer on-going and one-time projects and the time and frequency is up to the volunteer. Assistance is needed in the following areas: Transportation, Grocery Shopping, Deliveries, CASA Community Garden, Wheelchair Ramp Teams, Painting, Handyman Repairs, Yard Work, TEMP$, Holidays, and Friendly Visiting/Telephone Reassurance. Panoply 2006 Planning for Panoply 2006 is currently underway. Panoply takes place in downtown Huntsville’s Big Spring Park, the last weekend of April each year. Join this year’s festival April 28-30, 2006, as the arts are brought to life through a wide array of activities, events, and performances.
