1995 Highlights and Accomplishments

At the beginning of the year, our membership showed 586 members: 268 Ordeal, 251 Brotherhood, and 67 Vigil. Of these, 333 were youth and 253 were adults.

The year of 1995 was the 50th Anniversary of Kaskanampo Lodge. A special flap was created for the 1995 and the theme "In Search of a Higher Vision" was chosen. The year started with a Lodge Leader Training Conference at Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison. The 49 brothers that attended participated in classes involving ceremonies, key three relations, elections, and other exciting topics.

On March 25 Beaver Day was again upon us, even though in everyone's mind was the upcoming Conclave. Especially so because in 1996 the Kaskanampo Lodge will be host. Sixty six Arrowmen helped prepare for the annual Cub Adventure Weekends and Camp and other necessary projects were completed.

On April 22-24, sixty six brothers attended the SR-8 Conclave at Camp Thunder located near Griffin, Georgia. Our Lodge had the largest contingent in the Section. Delegates enjoyed patch trading, training sessions, American Indian event competitions and much more. The Kaskanampo Ceremonial Team solidified it's position as the class of SR-8 by defeating all comers this year and thus repeated as first place winners. The team was represented by member from Chiaha Chaper and consisted of Sam Hetrick, Michael Counts, Jeremy Rousseau, and Scott Helms. Lance Putman was the coach. The Dance Team was also represented by members form Chiaha Chapter and made a respectable showing. The team members were Matt Hetrick, Michael Counts, Sam Hetrict, William Ivey, and Marshall Stout.

The two Ordeals were conducted June 9-11 at Camp Jackson and September 15-17 at Camp Westmoreland. New members inducted totaled (TBD). Thirty four Ordeal Arrowmen sealed their membership in the Brotherhood. Both Ordeals weekends went very well with a lot of participation. Special Thanks to Brother Jay McKellips and Menewa and Yuchi Chapters for the second Ordeal.

On September 8-10 Robby Thomas, Dan Watson, Mr. Compton, Mrs, Compton, Mr. Hagen, and Mr. Wilhite attended the Regional Conclave meeting in Memphis, Tennessee.

Fall fellowship was held on October 20th, with eleven brother keeping the Vigil on Friday night. They were Craig Blasingime, Ryan Hammond, Matt Hetrick, Michael Hurley, Foster Knowles, Robby Thomas, Mrs Janice Bowers, Mr. Les Bowers, Mr Dave Collins, Mrs. Susan Compton, and Mr. Mike Fountain. 109 members attended the fellowship.

On November 3-5 Chris Funderburk, Colin Hammond, Sam Hetrick, Bryan Tull and Mr. Del Tull attended the National Leadership Seminar in Covington, Georgia. Many Leadersip skills were taught at the Seminar.

On December 1, the Lodge closed the year with the annual banquet, held this year at Asbury United Methodist Church. 148 members attended the banquet. Chapter reports were given, Lodge Highlights were read, officers installed, and the Founder's Award presented to Sam Hetrick and Mr. Tom Hetrick. After the banquet an Aution was held to raise funds for the Lodge.

At year end, our membership had increase to 584 members: 289 Ordeal, 215 Brotherhood, and 80 Vigil. Of these, 289 were youth and 295 were adults

Yours in Service,
